Kiambethu Tea Farm

<p>Kiambethu Farm, established in 1910, is one of the oldest tea estates in Kenya, still run by descendants of the original settler family in the cool, misty highlands of Limuru, roughly 25 kilometres northwest of Nairobi. A guided walk through the neatly-rowed tea bushes explains the hand-picking and processing methods that have changed little in over a century, followed by a tour of the historic homestead and gardens, home to a resident troop of black-and-white colobus monkeys. The visit traditionally ends with a tasting of freshly brewed Kiambethu tea, served on the farmhouse veranda overlooking the plantation -- a quiet, scenic glimpse into Kenya's agricultural and colonial history.</p>
